CHEAP TRICK were honored to participate as musical guests in the 10th Annual “An Evening with Scott Hamilton and Friends” event at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland on November 7, 2009.
The band was accompanied by the Cleveland Pops Orchestra as the world-class figure skating ensemble performed. American Idol Top 5 Finalist Brooke White also performed a few numbers with the ensemble. The cast of skaters read like a Who’s Who of their industry – Kristi Yamaguchi, Steven Cousins, John Zimmerman, Caryn Kadavy, Josef Sobovcek, Todd Eldredge, Melissa Gregory, Denis Petukhov, Dan Hollander, Silvia Fontana, Ilia Kulik, Katia Gordeeva, Jeff Buttle, and Jennifer Robinson joined the inimitable Scott Hamilton.
The band and Scott have been friends for 28 years and didn’t hesitate when Scott called to ask if they would like to participate. The sold-out event benefited the Scott Hamilton CARES Initiative – a partnership between Scott Hamilton and the Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Institute.
