If someone has earned the right to an inflated ego; let it be McCartney, Jagger, Elton and a few more. But not Tyler. Not now, not ever. Sorry Steven, take a seat.

So how did you come to the conclusion that it's Steven Tylers fault then? Smile

FYI...whenever I have bought tix through Ticketmaster, I have always seen great tix become available within 2 weeks of the show. In other words, I wouldn't jump at the first set of tix that go on sale on day 1. Patience is a virtue grasshopper.

No offense, but at least Aerosmith has put out some good music over the past 20 years. I can't say the same for McCartney, Jagger or Elton. I love the Beatles but McCartney lost his right to an inflated ego a long time ago (Ebony and Ivory, Say Say Say, etc).

Playing fairs/casinos/small clubs etc is great for us hardcore fans but sucks for them. The backstage areas are small, dressing rooms suck etc. I play in a band and have seen both sides of the fence and its a whole lot nicer playing the Sprint Center/Staples Arena type venues. And, they get done earlier which is huge plus. To be done playing your set by 9:45PM, get paid well and have a nice area to retire afterwards is sweet. (even more so when you're in your 50's/60's)

That being said, I'll wait and see how they are being featured on this tour. If they're only being given a 40 minute "greatest hits" type slot, I'll likely pass as I've been there, done that many times before and won't pay for Steven Tylers inflated ego.

Absolutely agree that this is a great opportunity for Cheap Trick and a crappy situation for the CT fans. Even though I don't mind Aerosmith, I really don't want to spend big money for a 45 minute CT set. I will have to see what the prices are.

I don't think Steven Tyler has an inflated ego...but he does have inflated lips and inflated moobs (man boobs).

I hope they do the whole tour, last time I had 3rd seats for the Pensacola show, drove 8 hours and 30 mins before we got there Aerosmith cancelled the show.
I have truly NEVER forgiven them for this, as I despise driving I-10 and being in the Panhandle all together.
Never worked so hard for so much pain, wouldn't change for anything.

I bet "Hump Day" has a different meaning for Tyler.

RE: Cheap Trick Opening for Aerosmith Summer Tour
I read of Aero fan comments about Cheap Trick. At first they bothered me, then I remembered that IS an Aerosmith site, and it is for fans of that band. When we hear about CT opening for certain acts or playing the same bill, I know we can be critical and always want CT to headline, to play with no opening act, etc. It is hard to believe there are people out there who do not like CT! What is WRONG with them??? I did have to laugh at some though, like someone said Slash would be a better opener! ?????? Or that CT are a "bunch of old guys!" What do they think Aerosmith are?????

Cheap Trick can hold their own with ANY band out there ANYWHERE ANYTIME.

1:30 min would be a wet dream. someone correct me if i'm wrong but if aerosmith told live nation ct gets 1:20 or 1:30 min that's the final word right? it's aerosmiths tour. with no aerosmith tour, no live nation cash cut.
